Victoria grew up just across the Wabash River in West Terre Haute. She is our youngest and newest member of the Heritage family. She graduated from West Vigo High School in 2016 and joined us shortly after as one of our kennel attendants.
As a young girl, Victoria recalls always having a soft spot for all animals. At the age of six, she remembers bringing home a cute little homeless cat. After a much effort, she convinced her parents to allow her keep the cat. However, the agreement that she would be responsible for her care. She named her Tigger and still has her to this day! Family pets didn’t stop at the cat; she remembers always having cats, dogs, and birds in the house. Today, Victoria’s fur family includes Apollo the Husky, Buddy the Boston Terrier, Oliver, Tigger, and Tate the cats, Millie and Nibbles the Chinchillas, Spike the Hedgehog, and a whole lot of rabbits!
Victoria discovered a passion for rabbits approximately four years ago, when she got involved with the local 4-H club. She loves to learn about the different breeds and to learn how to care for them properly. Her experiences with 4-H and with her high school’s Medical Careers Program helped her set a future goal of becoming a Veterinary Technician. For now, she has decided to gain some experience in a veterinary hospital setting at Heritage and then enroll in Vet Tech school in a year or two.
Victoria fun fact: Her favorite animal related movie is Dolphin Tale.
Cassie was born and raised in Terre Haute. She and her six siblings grew up on a hobby farm surrounded by all types of animals. She can remember caring for dogs, cats, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, birds, hamsters – you name it! She considers her first real pet to be a Husky mix named Candy. Her family got Candy when Cassie was just eight years old. It was Candy who truly showed Cassie how to be responsible for another living thing and how much love she could feel for a furry friend!
As her passion for caring for animals grew, so did her involvement in animal related activities. She joined her local 4-H and learned more about raising goats, poultry, and rabbits. She actively participated in 4-H for 10 years. Today, she still finds time to volunteer for the Rabbit Club and Goat Club. She believes very strongly that 4-H is a great way for kids to get involved in something important; a way to learn life lessons! That is why she is determined to get her younger siblings involved with the organization.
Cassie joined the Heritage family as a kennel attendant in January of 2016. In her spare time, Cassie enjoys learning about dog psychology. She likes to spend as much time as possible working with her two German Shepherds, Liberty and Axle, and her Schnauzer mix, Zuzu. She also has a cat named Oliver, but dog psychology doesn’t work as well on him! Cassie also enjoys educating others on training techniques and canine behavior.
Cassie Fun Fact: Her favorite animal related movie is Old Yeller.
Taylor was born and raised in Terre Haute. She joined the Heritage team as a kennel attendant in August of 2015, however, she was caring for animals long before she joined us!
As a child, Taylor was always rescuing the local homeless pets. She grew up near an abandoned house that seemed to be overrun with stray cats. She can remember times when she would find all of the kittens, feed and care for them, and then find homes for them in her neighborhood! Her compassion didn’t stop there. At the age of 12, Taylor decided to volunteer her time at the local Humane Shelter. There she would clean and maintain the animals’ cages and kennels, exercise the dogs, and play with the cats. She would continue to volunteer there for approximately four years.
When Taylor is not caring for the animals at Heritage, she enjoys spending time with her family. They enjoy camping when the weather is nice as well as getting in a good hike on the trails at Turkey Run State Park. Taylor is also an avid video gamer. She recently discovered a new hobby - coloring in adult coloring books; she finds it very relaxing (when her pets allow her, that is)!
Taylor’s fur family currently consists of Max the Dachshund/Beagle mix, Sophie the Dachshund/Pitbull mix, Dallas the Pitbull, and two female cats named Mow Mow and Juvi. Her furbabies definitely keep her hopping and they are her motivation to continue her education in veterinary medicine one day. Her future goal is to become a Veterinary Technician and a professional groomer. She would like to be able to provide free grooming services to local shelters and rescues to help increase an animal’s chance to be adopted.
Taylor fun fact: Taylor’s favorite animal related movie is Homeward Bound.

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Heritage for many years. I also have friends that go to Dr. Pat & Dr. Jessica. They are extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of animal health care. Even on mammals you would never even think to take to the vet. Love the front desk staff in their caring attitudes, even though they are extremely busy. I would recommend anyone to take their four legged babies to visit Heritage Animal Hospital.
